Meta wanted to launch its first physical retail lab — equal parts store, research environment, and brand statement. A space where customers could actually try the technology and where Meta could learn from how they did so.
The approach
Four interactive zones, each instrumented for behavioral research. Live experts on the floor at all times. The space ran as both retail and longitudinal study, with customer permission.
The outcome
In its first quarter the Lab delivered 7× the unit sales of the brand’s online channel and BestBuy combined. The behavioral data shaped three subsequent product launches.
